Cynthia's career began after she relocated to New York in order to become an fashion designer. Within a few months Cynthia was signed to a five-year agreement to work with Wihelmina Models. It led to a highly popular book and cover for Essence Magazine. Cynthia's debut cover was among the magazine's most popular covers and an instant favorite with the editor-in-chief at the time, Susan Taylor. Cynthia's next cover was scheduled soon after and set the tone for a successful career. After moving to Paris Cynthia was seen strutting down her Paris Fashion Week runways and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia relocated back to New York City after living abroad for nearly a year. Her campaigns featured Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's.
